The Academic Orthopaedic Consortium (AOC) is partnering with MedTech Voice to help communicate the value of AOC’s expanding work across academic orthopaedics, industry collaboration, and musculoskeletal innovation.
For more than two decades, AOC has brought together the leaders shaping academic orthopaedics.
Through its national network of 5,000+ members, 200+ university-based academic orthopaedic departments, and 100+ health systems and private practices, AOC has become one of the most influential convening organizations in academic musculoskeletal care.
AOC’s work extends far beyond a single meeting or event. Through leadership development, benchmarking, advisory councils, webinars, research initiatives, AOC Connect, POST, and ongoing collaboration, AOC supports year-round engagement across the academic orthopaedic ecosystem.
At the center of this next phase is POST Powered by AOC Connect, AOC’s new collaboration platform designed to create more efficient, transparent, and scalable pathways for academic orthopaedic departments and industry partners to evaluate, validate, educate around, and advance new technologies.
As academic medical centers and MedTech companies seek more efficient, transparent, and strategically aligned ways to collaborate, the need for trusted national infrastructure has never been greater. Reductions in federal research funding, shrinking budgets across AMCs and
MedTech, and increasing pressure to commercialize responsibly have made traditional relationship-development models less sufficient.
AOC’s broader objective is not only to help accelerate innovation, but also to help de-risk commercialization through earlier alignment, evaluation, validation, education, and strategic engagement between academic orthopaedics and industry.
The AOC MedTech Advisory Council plays an important role in this work by bringing academic and industry leaders together to address the challenges that often slow or complicate collaboration, technology evaluation, education, and adoption. The goal is to foster a more trust-based and efficient process for connecting academic orthopaedic leaders with the companies developing technologies that may shape the future of musculoskeletal care.
Through this partnership, MedTech Voice will help AOC educate the market, communicate the value of POST, highlight the work of the AOC MedTech Advisory Council, and showcase how AOC is helping create stronger pathways between academic orthopaedics and industry.
The partnership will also support strategic content around the 2026 AOC Business & Leadership Symposium in Nashville, an important touchpoint within AOC’s larger year-round platform for leadership, collaboration, benchmarking, research, and engagement.
The goal is to help more companies, members, and stakeholders understand what AOC has built, why collaboration with academic orthopaedics matters, and how industry partners can engage more effectively with the academic leaders shaping musculoskeletal care.

“For more than 20 years, AOC has brought together the leaders shaping academic orthopaedics. As we continue to expand initiatives like POST and the AOC MedTech Advisory Council, it is important that more people understand the value of these collaborations and the impact they can have on innovation, education, commercialization, and patient care. We believe MedTech Voice can help us communicate that story to a broader audience in a way that is authentic, informed, and aligned with the needs of the ecosystem.”
