Leadership and Impact
If you had a magic wand and could permanently solve one of your company’s biggest challenges right now, what would that be?
I would accelerate the introduction of innovative technologies into AMCs. Both institutions and industry share the same goal of improving patient care, yet the pathways for evaluation, contracting, and education are often time consuming and inefficient.
Streamlining the processes of placing and evaluating new technologies through clearer communication, earlier clinical alignment, and shared expectations would allow new technologies to be assessed more quickly, enabling surgeons to focus on what matters most, advancing patient care.
Looking back over the past three years, what are the two most impactful things you have accomplished in your role?
One of the most meaningful accomplishments has been evolving how we engage with AMCs by shifting to a dedicated, partnership-based model. This allows us to not only invest more time in understanding the educational, clinical, and research priorities of AMCs, but we can now support important programs and initiatives including hands-on educational opportunities on our technologies for Residents and Fellows.
Share one personal accomplishment from 2025 that you are especially proud of.
I am especially proud of developing a new, dedicated team to address the local needs of AMCs in the largest metropolitan markets. As a result, we have been able to increase our commitment to Resident and Fellow education while better aligning the needs of AMCs with our company to drive improved patient care.
The AOC and the Power of the Collective
How can the AOC better utilize its digital platform to support meaningful, efficient connections between industry and academic leaders, and to unlock the collective power of its membership?
The AOC has an opportunity to serve as a true connector across the orthopaedic ecosystem. A digital platform could help industry connect with the next generation of surgeons. It could create a centralized hub for educational resources across vendors making it easier for surgeons, fellows, and residents to access knowledge without navigating multiple systems. An AOC digital platform could help match AMC needs with industry capabilities more efficiently andbroaden beyond the same institutions and voices that traditionally participate. Ultimately, this would democratize access to innovation, increase diversity of thought, and strengthen collaboration across experience levels and institutions.
The Human Side of Leadership
What is your “superpower”?
My superpower is connecting people in meaningful ways. I genuinely enjoy understanding what motivates individuals and organizations and then finding common ground that leads to progress. Face-to-face interaction allows for nuance, trust, and authenticity that cannot be replicated digitally. When people feel heard and valued, collaboration becomes more productive and more human.
Reflection and Perspective
If you could go back and give yourself career advice earlier in your journey, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to take more risks earlier and not view setbacks as failures, but as accelerators for growth. The lessons from those moments often shape your leadership more than the easy wins.
I would also emphasize trusting your instincts. Experience builds intuition and learning to listen to that inner voice while staying open to feedback helps you lead with both confidence and humility.
How do you think AI will meaningfully change your role or partnerships in five years?
AI will fundamentally change how industry can personalize and deliver education by helping to identify learning needs, tailor educational experiences, and ensure the right information reaches the right learners at the right time. This will allow industry to customize education so that it complements what AMCs already provide, making collaboration more efficient and impactful for surgeons, Residents, and Fellows.
