Description of presentation: Yale Ortho is a 60 surgeon group located in Connecticut with 9 subspecialties and 17 clinic locations. We are part of the Yale New Haven Health System. Our practice did not have a DME vendor or process that met the needs of patients and providers. Learn how a complex health system partnered with Breg and launched a comprehensive DME program in 6 months.


Shana Kelly
Senior Impact Consulting Manager @Breg

Shana is currently serving as the Senior Impact Consulting Manager on the Breg Impact Team, and am based out of Kansas City. She has been a member of the consulting team for 13 years and has held a variety positions yielding expertise in areas of DMEPOS program design, implementation, compliance, business development, and customer experience. Her current appointment is to function as the liaison to the AOC membership to support them with all DME related needs and interests. As a member of the leadership team at Breg, Shana has supported a wide geographic areas and a national customer base. Before coming to Breg, as Certified Athletic Trainer, she ran a DME Department in a large orthopedic clinic. Prior to that Shana was the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Athletic Training curriculum program, and taught at Kansas State University. She earned a Master’s degree (MA) in Education from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Exercise Science from the U of Iowa.

Mary Henwood, MPH
Senior Director, Finance & Administration @Yale

Mary joined Yale in the spring of 2017 and currently is the Senior Director for Integrated Business Offices and the Director of Finance & Administration for the Department of Orthoapedics & Rehabilitation and the Department of Urology. A native of Connecticut, Henwood started her career in the the Pulp and Paper industry as the Regional Manager for Boise Cascade based in New York City. After completing her Master of Public Health at Columbia, she lead the American Cancer Society Manhattan office and had the honor of working with Mayor Mike Bloomberg to pass the Clean Indoor Air Act in 2009. She was Director of Women’s and Children’s Service Line at Stamford Hospital where she managed the Children’s Specialty Center, Women’s Center, The Breast Health Center and the Mobile Wellness center. Henwood’s focus at Yale is to collaborate with leadership and faculty to grow the clinical practice and to support the strategic missions of the department.
